Those who have a craving for some quality television can now get their fix with the new season of Better Call Saul, a show that has already garnered Emmy nominations for its two main actors, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. But before you get caught up in the hype, there are some things you need to know about the show.
Bryan Cranston
During the Breaking Bad season six finale, actor Bryan Cranston (pictured) returned to the screen as a meth kingpin, albeit briefly. The actor also starred in a “Breaking Bad” prequel called Better Call Saul. His appearance was not to be confused with the other “Breaking Bad” mainstay, Gus Fring.
According to Bryan Cranston, his appearance in Better Call Saul was actually a “top secret” mission. He and Aaron Paul (as Jesse Pinkman) filmed a “Breaking Bad” prequel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the show is set.
Cranston and Paul were also in town for the upcoming Better Call Saul season premiere. Both actors also discussed their “Breaking Bad” and Better Call Saul experiences. Both said they felt fortunate to be a part of the production. Emmy nominations
Throughout the series’ run, Better Call Saul has received a great deal of critical praise. It is considered one of the best television shows of recent years. However, it has not received an Emmy win.
This is a shame, especially considering how much attention Better Call Saul has received. This is a great series, with brilliant acting, cinematography, and writing. It is a series that could have easily been nominated for a drama series Emmy.
However, recency bias did not favor the Emmy nomination campaigns for this season. The show dropped its last episode just as the voting was ramping up. This maximized its exposure and momentum.
Better Call Saul received seven nominations for the fifth and final season of the show. The series also earned nominations for outstanding writing for a drama series, outstanding directing for a drama series, and outstanding sound mixing for a comedy or drama series.
