This station is one of six stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line (Thomson stretch) designated as Civil Defence (CD) shelters, which will be activated in times of national emergency. Apart from reinforced construction, the stations have protective blast doors, decontamination facilities and ventilation systems.

The interior artwork for the Lentor MRT Station is titled “Interlude for Lentor”. Inspired by the local area, the artist created a visual score that resembles musical notations and calligraphic scripts. It unfolds over one of the largest walls in the station, inviting commuters to read it.
